YOUR ROLE

 

Our Global Contract Lead Logistics team based in Ashby de la Zouch have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and people focused Global Operations Manager where you will lead a control tower specialist team working in partnership with a global and prestigious client providing global operational solutions, process improvements, performance, cost save and transportation management for their full supply chain.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is already operating as a control tower operational lead or operating as a customer service manager within a lead logistics environment.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

 

Reporting into the Global Contract Manager you will lead and inspire your operational team in executing global supply chain activities from order and vendor management to freight and carrier management and risk mitigation. You will provide direction to the client to ensure customer goals are reached and in line with company policies and procedures, acting as a key point of contact and escalation point for operational issues where you will provide remedial actions and improvements to processes ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

 

You will ensure a high level of engagement with internal and external customers and that all performance objectives are achieved. You will analyse and manage the P&L and pricing activities to ensure overall profitability, lead and prepare regular reports and business reviews with the client to discuss operational activities, suggest improvements and embed solutions. You will establish work standards and processes, analysing KPI’s, SLA’s and quality metrics implementing change to positively impact customer operations.

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

To be successful in your application you will have substantial global freight forwarding or international transportation experience, ideally operating as a Control Tower Operational Lead role, within a 3PL or global transport logistics industry. You will have a strong understanding of cross-functional business processes and proven operational leadership skills able to manage and inspire diverse teams. You have a strong understanding of operating processes and capabilities, business process standardizations and enabling technologies.

 

It goes without saying that you will be a natural communicator able to build internal and external relationships and influence decisions with a strong customer ethos. You will possess strong data analysis skills, be a logical and creative thinker and a team player. You will possess intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office products able to use various operational systems.

 

You will work Monday to Friday working a 40-hour working week, you will be based at our CEVA House, in Ashby de la Zouch, therefore candidates must be able to work from the office four days per week with the occasional work from home day dependant on business needs. It would be desirable, however not essential if you have proven experience of moving abnormal loads.
